ConsoleLink
ConsoleLink

Monitor in UAD Console.
Hear the same in Pro Tools.

Made for Pro Tools users with an Apollo.

ConsoleLink mirrors each UAD Console channel on its Pro Tools track: the same plugins with the same settings, and the same fader level, pan, mute and send levels. Track with the low latency of your Apollo, and play back with the sound you monitored.

What you recorded doesn't sound like what you heard

An Apollo's DSP gives performers compression, EQ and reverb in their headphones without delay, but only in UAD Console. Most people use that processing only for monitoring, and record dry. Pro Tools then plays back something else.

Punch-ins jump

During pre-roll, the earlier take plays dry; at the punch-in, the performer hears themselves live and processed. Sound and level jump.

The sound you played to is lost

You played to that compression and that reverb. When the take comes back dry, that sound is gone, and with it a good starting point for a rough mix.

Levels and balance are different

Pro Tools plays the recording at its own levels, not UAD Console's. Tracks come back louder or quieter, and a drum kit in a different balance.

How ConsoleLink works

Connect UAD Console channels to Pro Tools tracks once. From then on, what you change in UAD Console, Pro Tools follows as you go, as settings, not as part of the audio. The mix engineer can still change everything.

Hands-on with Softube Console 1

Control UAD Console with Softube's Console 1 and Console 1 Fader through Apollo Central, and ConsoleLink carries every change over to Pro Tools. In effect, you control your Pro Tools tracks from the hardware, monitor with the low latency of UAD Console, and can leave UAD Console's window out of sight.
